It’s that time of year again. The time when the diet commercials take over your TV and the gym ads dominate your social media feed. Everyone you talk to seems to have a different plan or program lined up for 2022, and they’re diving in with gusto.
But how long will it last? A few days? A few weeks? The annual January crash and burn is almost inevitable. Yes, a few soldier on, but it takes a lot of teeth-gritting and white knuckle willpower. It doesn’t feel like real healing. And there’s always the fear that the pounds–and the bingeing–will come right back. All it takes is one bad day to derail all our best laid plans.
So what does real change look like anyway?
And for believers in Christ, shouldn’t our faith play a part in that process? Perhaps, instead of chasing the next diet or bestselling program, we could turn to the Lord to show us how to transform our health in a way that LASTS. To let Him help us navigate that incredibly difficult territory in a way that’s immensely personal for us. That addresses our own individual issues–especially the stuff hiding deep underneath the surface.
Because real change goes to the root level. And changes us from the inside out.
If you’re ready to grab the Lord’s hand and let Him take you on that kind of adventurous journey, a good place to start is Season 4 of my You Made New Podcast. It’s 10 episodes devoted to the Top 10 Traits of Christ-Centered Health. We’ll look at health in a whole new, faith-based way.
And to make it even easier, I’m dropping the first episode right here. When you’ve got a minute, give it a try. 🙂
